I’m excited to share this collaborative post with y’all about one of my vacation must-haves, shoes!
When it comes to building an eye-catching outfit, everything you put together can be completely on point, but if your shoes are letting you down, you’re wasting your time. Shoes are more than just a finishing touch to an ensemble – let’s leave that role to jewelry, hair accessories, and handbags. They are a vital element and something that you’re going to have to incorporate into your look if you intend to leave the house. So, to help bring your wardrobe together, here are a couple of pieces of iconic footwear to consider that won’t let you down.
There are so many different brands and styles of training shoes out there that it’d be nigh on impossible to list them all in one article, nevermind actually take a serious look at each. So, let’s settle for one of the most appreciated pairs of sneakers of all time – the Air Jordan. The original Air Jordan I was designed by Peter Moore and released in 1985. World-renowned basketball player Michael Jordan signed a contract with Nike for the shoe and had his iconic silhouette placed on the shoe. Though the original shoe didn’t meet the NBA’s strict uniform policies, Jordan wore them anyway, bringing in a $5000 fine per game, which Nike was happy to pay for the brand endorsement. Consequently, the shoe has gone down in sports history and various other styles have been released over the years. So, add a pair to your own wardrobe. The retro feel of the 72-10 jordan, in particular, will add a serious edge to your aesthetic.
We’re in the first stages of summer, and the temperature is starting to rise. Rainy days are filtering out, and we’re starting to have some decent weather on our hands. So boots and sneakers might not be the best option for everyday wear. Sandals, however, are a relatively tricky issue when it comes to fashion and aesthetic. While slides are in right now, they’re not ideal to wear out and about – they’re more of a home comfort. So what can you put on your feet that will protect them from the hot ground but still look good? Well, this is where Birkenstocks come to the rescue. These classics have been on the market since the late 1700s and have really stood the test of time. They are an absolute must for the hotter months of the year, or to pack in your suitcase if you’re heading overseas for a beach holiday. Most pairs are made from a combination of standard leather, patent leather, or nubuck leather, but there are vegan options available if you want to lead a more cruelty-free lifestyle.
There are so many iconic pieces of footwear out there that this list just scratches the surface. But the two different brands we’ve taken a deeper look at won’t let you down and should keep your feet looking great come rain or shine. So, get browsing online or in stores and trying them on. You’ll quickly get a feel of whether they’re for you or not!
