I came across this old playlist last week and ended up letting it play just about the whole work day. I created it after ending things with an ex flame and I needed to wash him out of my hair and sing those blues away. Now that’s not my current situation, but I wanted to share the playlist with y’all in case there’ someone out there now who is going through that.
Music is one of those things that I need to live, like food or water. I feel like there’s a song out there for every situation, emotion and major life event and I love making playlists to document those. I’ve been using Spotify for years so these older playlists often serve as time capsules, taking me back to where I was physically and emotionally when I created them.
This particular playlist helped me get over an ex back in 2012, but last week they helped me get a good cry out. I got to sit back and reminisce on the good and bad times of that relationship and see how much I’ve grown since. Take a listen below and grab a hairbrush and sing along.
